Meetings of the Chinese President with Russia and Ukraine

Chinese President Xi Jinping will travel to Moscow on Monday for a three-day trip. It will be his first trip to Russia since the Russian invasion of Ukraine a year ago.

Xi’s visit to Moscow is a diplomatic coup for Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose country has been subject to unprecedented international sanctions since sending tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

This is reported by the Ukrainian news channel Europe Integration. Xi will also meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time since the invasion began.after his trip to Moscow.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday last week that if there were to be a direct talk between Xi and Zelensky, it would be “an important step in Beijing’s efforts to play peacemaker” between Russia and Ukraine.
